Petsapalooza started in 2008 after a lot of research. The research provided estimates such as 6-8 million animals enter animal rescues in a year, and only 3-4 million are adopted out. The research also provided estimates that less than 20% of animals in homes are from animal rescues or shelters. This shows that people are still getting pets but are not choosing rescue enough.
Petsapalooza took the statistics above and started to have in depth conversations with pet owners, asking why they did not choose rescue. The common answer we received was I don’t know much about animal rescue or the types of animals I can get through this channel.
As stated above, our first product, Fur-Ever Home, the Animal Rescue Game, was released to the public in May 2010. This family friendly board game is fun for everybody to play and features some entertaining dogs and cats who are in Straytown waiting for you to take them in to your rescue and then to ultimately get them to their “Fur-Ever Home”.
